I am still blown...Thank you for your encouragement. I am still blown away when people say, "I love your writing" or "I've requested your blogs." This writing thing is simply part of who I am. I learned a long time ago that even if it does nothing but help me process things, I'm ok with that. Even if it's just for my children, I'm ok with that. Even if it only touches one person I may not have known before, I'm ok with that, too. I'm nowhere near "accomplished", but then again, who sets the definition for "accomplished?" Accomplishment came the first time I finished a poem in 6th grade and someone said they loved it. Accomplishment came when I wrote my first blog entry. Accomplishment came the first time I held that finished book in my hand, "The Proper Use of One's Shell." I cried when I saw the illustrations. It's self-published, but to me, that only means that I more quickly get to use it for what it is meant to be used for...something good. You've been given a passion, so I applaud you for pursuing it. It can be difficult to reign in, but it will continue to be a sweet friend to you, especially when you share it with others. Write on, Laura!
P.S. Look up my very first blog post...you'll definitely understand. :)Jennifer Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05763207176487971888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084379773824309194.post-50799421449389953862011-03-30T20:14:25.338-04:002011-03-30T20:14:25.338-04:00Hi Jennifer. I wonder if you'll even see this....Hi Jennifer. I wonder if you'll even see this. I read your blog on Vonda Skelton's page and have since requested your blogs. I love your writing. I too love and need to write. So I really related to you when you compared it to needing to breath. I however do not have all the stress of family like you do, which I so admire and am taking notes for when I do. I know it is hard to find time to yourself as a wife and a mother (which we all as women need)so while I am still "waiting" :) I soak it all up. Even in my lack of responsibility though I find it hard to find time to write. Right now I can't seem to stop and I am squeezing it in everywhere but I am a student so my grades pay at times like this when my heart flutters to drag a pen across paper. I'm sorry to write so much here but you and Vonda have been an encouragement to me, and I wanted you to know that. Congratulations for all that you have accomplished in writing.
Laura ~ Northern KYAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
